Combining Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy for Recovery

Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy

Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy services are provided in our fully equipped purpose build rehabilitation suite.

Physiotherapy treatments primarily focus on reducing pain, improving mobility and therefore increasing the quality of life of pets with musculoskeletal conditions. This is achieved through a range of electrotherapies, manual therapies, tailored exercise programmes and hydrotherapy in an underwater treadmill. Together with you, Suzanne will help your pet regain strength, flexibility and confidence in a friendly caring environment.

When can physiotherapy help?

  • Post-surgical Recovery: assists healing and regaining mobility following orthopaedic or neurological surgeries.
  • Arthritis and joint pain: provides pain relief and improves mobility for pets with degenerative joint conditions.
  • Hip/ elbow dysplasia: Help managing pain and improving functions in pets with these common genetic conditions.
  • Obesity management: Develop exercise plans to help pets lose weight and improve overall fitness.
  • Sporting or working injuries: Offers preventative care and rehabilitation for active pets involved in agility or hunting.

Hydrotherapy
At Broadleys we also utilise hydrotherapy to support your pets recovery. The underwater treadmill is a gentle yet effective form of therapy that uses the properties of water to improve mobility, reduce pain and generally enhance well-being.

Why is Hydrotherapy so beneficial?

  • Reduced impact: The buoyancy of water decreases the stress placed on joints and muscles.
  • Enhances strength: Water resistance provides a low-impact environment for building muscle strength and endurance without the risk of over exertion.
  • Improved mobility: water can help pets regain range of motion and improve flexibility.
  • Pain relief: The hydrostatic pressure of water can help reduce swelling and pain. The warm water is also a natural pain killer.

Dunblane Premises Update

Thank you to all our clients for their patience during this period of time.

As you can expect, it’s been a shock to lose our clinic at Station Road and we are working hard behind the scenes to secure a new location.

We have full intentions of staying in Dunblane and are in stages of agreeing a lease. We will use the website and Facebook to keep clients informed of next steps.

For all appointments and prescriptions, please give us a call on 01786 445665 and our team in Stirling will happily assist you. We are offering free transport to and from Dunblane if this is required while we do not have a clinic in Dunblane.
